The problem
On Franklin Rooseveltlaan, when entering the center of Ghent, you come across Jurgen Devos' hair salon “HAiR”. Clearly a business with class where you are guaranteed to be pampered. This hair salon was subjected to a thorough renovation by manager Jurgen Devos in 2019. However, one thing appeared to be out of order after the renovation: poor acoustics. Indeed, during the renovation, the (micro-perforated) system ceiling was replaced by a plaster fiberboard ceiling, which does not dampen sound but reflects it. Large glass walls were also installed, as was a ceramic tile floor. On top of that (as is appropriate in a hair salon) there were also many m² of mirrored glass on the walls.
