The problem
Several prestigious projects are currently under construction on the canal basin in Leuven. Here, old silos and warehouses are being transformed into sleek lofts. One of these projects also housed our client and his family. The modern design of the brand-new building, with many windows, apparently caused a very annoying reverberation in the hallway and living space. Pleasant living in this beautiful newly built loft was therefore somewhat hampered.
Our solution
Our specialist went on site and was able to measure a reverberation time of 1.4 seconds. To achieve a comfortable reverberation time of 0.8 seconds, 18 m² of our material was needed. At first, the customer considered having a combination of acoustic wall panels (COUSTpanels) and acoustic ceiling panels (COUSTceilings) installed. In the end, the client chose only acoustical ceiling panels. However, because several old beams had been retained during the renovation, the ceiling was not the same height everywhere. Of course, this was not an obstacle for our installation team.
Result
We tackled all the rooms: near the large window in the living room came 2 acoustic ceiling panels (COUSTceiling), in the kitchen came a COUSTceiling with an inside corner and in the hallway a COUSTceiling was placed with lead-through for the lamp. A total approach and customized guidance that our client could only be satisfied with!
