The problem
Right on the edge of the Botanical Garden in Meise is the award-winning restaurant “Auberge Napoléon”. For decades this has been a well-known address in Meise for gastronomy lovers. You can go there not only for lunch or dinner, but also for larger parties. The impressive building was purchased by the Stallaert family in 2011 and transformed into a contemporary, stylish restaurant with a bright interior.
Our solution
The passionate team pulls out all the stops every day to pamper guests culinarily. Their motto is “To convey pure happiness in a convivial manner in a stylish setting... that is our goal!” To guarantee a convivial atmosphere, good acoustics are of course also of great importance. And in the veranda, this proved to be a problem. The many hard materials and large areas of glass caused a reverberation there that continued to reverberate for up to 1.3 seconds. The client contacted us to work out as unobtrusive a solution as possible.
Result
We suggested installing a large, white COUSTwall (custom acoustic wall covering) above the white sofa, as well as two white COUSTceilings (acoustic ceiling panels) that we would align perfectly with the skylights. The client agreed, and so it happened: we were then able to reduce the reverberation in the beautiful porch to 0.8 seconds. An acceptable reverberation time to allow parties and dinners to take place again in peace and comfort!
