A while back, the new town hall of the municipality of Assenede was built. After moving into the new landscape offices, it was soon clear to employees that working was made difficult by poor acoustics. The cause? The imposing, eight-meter-high entrance hall with its large glass...
The reverberation measurement by an acoustical engineer indicated a very high reverberation time of up to 2.3 seconds (!). The municipality wanted to reduce this reverberation time to 1 second, but not just like that: it also had to be able to offer a guarantee that the intended result would be achieved. And since COUST is the only company that can give this guarantee, they naturally chose us!
The imposing entrance hall required an imposing solution. Therefore, we proposed to build a ceiling panel (COUSTceiling) of up to 21 meters long on the high ceiling. We knew that this would require a lot of skill on our part, but we did not shy away from it. After building the necessary scaffolding, our installers were able to erect the panel completely on site. On the walls, five more large custom wall panels (COUSTwalls) of +- 10 m² each were built on site. A small acoustic panel at the top of the stairs provided the finishing touch. As promised, after this precise installation of our acoustic solutions, the intended result was achieved, resulting - rightly so - in a tremendously satisfied customer!
